Once again the Zombie Apocalypse descended on Boston this year. Unlike last year (when it poured cats and dogs on us) it was nice and sunny. Huge crowd this year, I can’t be certain but I’m pretty sure this years attendance was much larger than 2010′s. So who was in attendance this year? You might be surprised to hear that more than just zombies show up for the Apocalypse. So lets do a short run through of “The Usuals”. Also anyone feeling nostalgic? Phantom Glue @ O’Brien’s Pub

I managed to catch a pretty solid metal show at O’Brien’s Pub on Harvard Ave in Allston, MA featuring Jack Burton vs David Lopan, The Proselyte, Black Skies & Phantom Glue.

I was pretty surprised all bands present sounded great and put on quite a show. Piece of advice if metal is your domain, keep an ear out for any of these bands you won’t be disappointed.

Mt Auburn Cemetery

Took a bit of walk up to explore the Mt Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA. I’d been hearing a lot about the birds in there migration stopping there. I didn’t find much in the way of birds except a single Red Tailed Hawk that took flight before I could snap it’s picture, but there certainly wasn’t a lack of other things to look at. It’s a lot larger than I thought it would be, and in the few hours I was there, I don’t think I managed to cover even half of it. So I’m already planning a return trip. Check out the photo’s I took:

I shot a small metal show thursday night @ O’Brien’s Pub on Harvard Ave. in Allston, MA. Feat: War Animal, The Proselyte & Atlas Moth. Though smaller and much tamer than my usual hxc/metalcore shows, it was a good time and all the bands were great. This is my first concert shoot using my new 35mm f/1.8 lens, and I think it performed rather well. I can’t wait till I can take it to a venue with a decent light setup, and not just icicle lights hanging in front of the stage, with a couple hot lights beaming down on the musicians.

NYC Trip 03/19/2011

Took a day trip to New York City this weekend, to visit some galleries and hit up the Museum of Modern Art there. It was my first time visiting NYC so it was a good time. I didn’t get to see as much of it as I wanted, so I’m already planning a return trip. Preferably this next time it will involve an overnight stay so that I can do some night photography.

Boston’s North End

Took a trip into Boston’s Historic North End last thursday on a rainy night after the Bruins game. I’d been waiting for an opportune chance to get up into the North End to do a little picture taking at night, and it presented itself. So I trudged through the rain umbrella in one hand, camera in the other, and this is the result.

Hey all! I’ve finally got my new website up and running. I’m pretty excited to hear what you all think. As of right now I have the function to purchase prints and downloads disabled as I need more time to experiment with those features. Seashell Collecting along Revere Beach

Took a trip to Revere Beach on a cold wintery day in January to take some pictures and do a little seashell collecting. January is a great time to do it, because the waves keep the beach clear of snow and there is very little people around to collect all the cool shells that wash up on the beach.

Thanks to everyone who has checked out my blog, it’s been a great year and I feel I’ve taken more great pictures this year than ever before. I am really looking forward to some great stuff I’ve got in the pipeline, so stay tuned there is definitely more to come.
